It’s sometimes silly to pay $100 for a tree that may be growing right over your hillside, but there’s a reason it’s growing so well there. Many plants that we choose are native to PA for this reason. We take many things into consideration before choosing a plant, shrub or tree. A short list follows:

  • wind exposure
  • zone hardiness
  • mature size
  • bloom time
  • texture of foliage during non-bloom time
  • fall color
  • bark color and texture
  • seasons of interest
  • appeal to native animals
  • tolerance of soil conditions: clay, loam, rocky, moist, standing water?
  • sun exposure : am or pm? Dense or dappled shade?
  • Will it go to seed and naturalize?
  • Does everyone in the neighborhood have the same plantings?
  • Will it blend into your landscape and home’s character?

In summation, Eden’s Envy invests a vast collection of knowledge, education, experience, pride, and passion into every undertaking. Frankly, most firms today can’t tout such credentials. Shop around & do your homework. Landscaping is a large investment, and you can only do it once: choose your investment wisely.
